Listing details for 7616 Elm St, Louviers, CO 80131 : *LOW TAXES, NO HOA!* Welcome to Louviers!! Fall in love with this charming little hidden town close to Castle Rock & Sedalia- it is truly a throwback with most of the houses here being built in the early 1900s. You must see it to believe this amazing, secluded oasis! Built in 1915, this wonderful home is 2 bed/1 bath with an oversized 2-car detached garage & a brand new roof. One of the bedrooms (originally a 3 bedroom) was converted into what is now a larger bathroom & the laundry moved upstairs to the main level in recent years for easier access. Enjoy a bonus sunroom off the kitchen that can be utilized as an office, den or for eventually expanding the kitchen. The current owner has owned the home since the 1960s & has lived in Louviers since the 1930s- truly remarkable! Many of the community's residents have similar stories with generations being brought up in this little town. This quaint home was an original in the Du Pont "company town", meant to attract long-term employees with home ownership. The history is rich in this little community as it remains one of the most well preserved "company towns" in all of Colorado with older homes that have been beautifully taken care of and restored. A highly desirable & extremely close-knit community, homes here don't typically last long & many of the residents love it so much that they have lived here for decades. Take a small trip around the community & you will notice a lovely community center where multiple town functions are held yearly. The community center includes a library upstairs, a large dining hall with a stage & a 2-lane bowling alley that is over 100 years old! There is also a small post office, a wonderful baseball field, playground & park where the community gathers in the summer for "movies in the park" on a big screen. Just up the street from Sedalia restaurants- Bud's Bar, Gabriel's, Wide Open Saloon & O'Brien's Cafe- you'll feel at home in this one-of-a-kind community. This home will be sold 'As Is'
