The results above apply both the ranch and one-level filters. Those filters narrow the Denver search, but neither one describes the complete floor plan.
Begin with the rooms you want on the same floor. For each home, check the location of the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, living areas, and laundry space that matter to your decision.
A listing may not identify the floor for every room. When a room location remains unclear, ask about that specific space or check it during a showing.
The Discover Denver survey report for Virginia Village classifies Ranch as both a form and a style. Within that neighborhood, it identifies Transitional Ranch homes and records variations in architectural elements, including garage configuration.
That distinction matters when reviewing current listings. A ranch label may describe architectural characteristics without answering property-specific questions about room placement, stairs, entrances, or basement use.
One level does not mean step-free, and it does not tell you whether a basement is present.
Determine first whether the home has a basement. If it does, identify whether any bedrooms, bathrooms, or finished living areas are below the main floor. Check separately whether laundry facilities, storage, or mechanical equipment are downstairs.
Check the entrances the home actually has. The front entrance, any side entrance, and any entrance from the garage may involve different numbers of steps.
Also determine whether moving between the rooms you plan to use requires interior stairs.
Do not assume every result is detached. Check whether each home is attached to another residence.
For an attached home, check whether the property is subject to an association. If so, ask whether the association charges dues or assessments and how responsibility is divided for exterior upkeep and any shared areas.
Those questions are separate from the ranch and one-level filters.
