Uptown includes brick rowhouses alongside single-unit, multi-unit, and mixed-use buildings. Start with the building type, then compare the space, light, outdoor area, stairs or elevator access, parking, and monthly costs that come with the individual home.
Two homes with similar prices can come with very different responsibilities. If a listing is part of an association, review what the dues cover, the reserves and planned work, and whether parking or storage transfers with the unit.
Seventeenth Avenue is Uptown's main restaurant and retail stretch, running east from Broadway toward City Park. A home near 17th can put restaurants closer, but its windows, entrance, or parking may also face the avenue's traffic. A home several streets away may mean a longer walk without the same direct exposure to 17th Avenue.
Look at the exact address and unit orientation. Compare which windows face 17th, where parking is accessed, and which streets you would use to enter and leave.
