Who answers in Highlands Ranch

How to choose a Highlands Ranch real estate agent: 5 checks

  1. Highlands Ranch closings by address. Ask for the street addresses the agent closed here, not a metro-wide total.
  2. Reviews you can read. Look at the Google review count and stars and the BBB rating, not a hand-picked quote.
  3. License and brokerage. Look the agent up on the Colorado Division of Real Estate license lookup and ask which brokerage supervises the file.
  4. Full monthly cost. A good agent gives you HRCA dues ($696 a year in 2026), any sub-association dues and the Douglas County tax with the metro district levy, in writing, for each house.
  5. How the price is set. Ask for recent Highlands Ranch sales and a price for a fast sale, one at market pace and one for a stretch, each with its time frame.

How Highlands Ranch differs from the cities around it

Not a city

Highlands Ranch is unincorporated Douglas County. There is no city hall: the county handles zoning, the sheriff patrols, the Highlands Ranch Metro District runs parks and open space, and Centennial Water and Sanitation District supplies water.

One association, 31,510 homes

The Highlands Ranch Community Association covers 31,510 homes on 22,000 acres and runs the recreation centers. Some neighborhoods add a sub-association, so we pull both sets of dues and rules for every listing.

Late-1990s houses

The median Highlands Ranch home was built in 1998, and 72.8% are single-family detached (U.S. Census Bureau). Roof, furnace and water heater ages are what buyers price in, so our sellers know those ages before listing.

Almost no new supply

The HRCA describes the community as nearly built out. One of the few new projects, approved on Plaza Drive, will add 84 townhomes and 264 apartments. A Highlands Ranch seller competes with other resale homes, not a builder's model.

Douglas County detached homes sold at a $735,000 median in September 2026, 2.0% below September 2025, after 55 days on market (Colorado Association of REALTORS). More numbers: Highlands Ranch real estate statistics.

Five questions for any Highlands Ranch agent you interview

Ask

What do my HRCA and sub-association dues add up to?

Our answer: We pull both before the first price conversation. Buyers compare the total monthly cost, so the number belongs in the listing.

Ask

How many Highlands Ranch homes have you closed in the last 12 months?

Our answer: In the group's MLS data, two: 10754 Towerbridge Circle at $629,000 on February 6, 2026, and 10566 Hyacinth Place at $630,000 on March 23, 2026. Both were Brian Lee Burke's listings.

Ask

Do your clients come back?

Our answer: Eleven Highlands Ranch houses appear twice in Brian's sold record. Ask each agent you interview for the same kind of proof.

Ask

How do you price in a 55-day market?

Our answer: With three prices. The Smart Pricing Report gives a price for a fast sale, one at market pace and one for a stretch, each with its time frame and your net.

Ask

Are you a brokerage?

Our answer: No. The Kenna Real Estate Group is a group of brokers licensed with Keller Williams Realty DTC, LLC, 6300 S Syracuse Way, Suite 150, Centennial.

Highlands Ranch questions sellers and buyers ask us

Choosing a Highlands Ranch Realtor

Who is the best real estate agent in Highlands Ranch?

No official ranking exists, so judge agents by local closings, reviews and license history. The Kenna Group at Keller Williams DTC shows its own: 64 Highlands Ranch closings by REALTOR® Brian Lee Burke, 5.0 stars on 283 Google reviews, an A+ BBB rating and a license held since 2003 (as of Oct 25, 2026).

What is the difference between a Realtor and a real estate agent?

Every agent who helps you buy or sell in Colorado holds a state real estate license. A REALTOR® is a licensed agent who also belongs to the National Association of REALTORS® and follows its Code of Ethics. In our group, Brian Lee Burke is a REALTOR®; the others are licensed real estate agents at Keller Williams DTC.

How much does a Highlands Ranch real estate agent cost?

Commission is negotiable and is not set by law. Buyers now sign a written agreement that states what their agent is paid before touring homes, and sellers agree to their listing fee in the listing contract. Ask any agent you interview to put the number in writing.

How do I reach a Highlands Ranch agent today?

Call or text 303-955-4220. A live person answers. You can also call Brian Lee Burke directly at (720) 704-4228.

For Highlands Ranch sellers

How long does a Highlands Ranch home take to sell right now?

Douglas County detached homes took 55 days on market in September 2026, with 3.5 months of supply (Colorado Association of REALTORS). Pricing to the last 90 days of Highlands Ranch sales, not to the spring peak, is what shortens that number.

Do I need HRCA approval to sell my house?

No approval is needed. The HRCA and any sub-association provide a status letter and the governing documents, and the Colorado contract gives the buyer a deadline to review them.

Should I update my 1990s kitchen before I sell?

Get the Smart Pricing Report first. It shows the price for the house as it stands and the price for an updated one, from Highlands Ranch sales, so you see whether the kitchen pays back before you spend.

For Highlands Ranch buyers

What do I pay each month on top of the mortgage in Highlands Ranch?

HRCA dues, any sub-association dues, Douglas County property tax with the metro district levy, and insurance. We put all four on one page for each house you consider. Background: HOA fees in Colorado, explained.

Can I build an ADU in Highlands Ranch?

Check two rulebooks: Douglas County zoning and the HRCA covenants. We pull both for the address before you count on rental income. Homes with one already built are on the Highlands Ranch ADU page.
